Red Hawks Reach the Cup Final in both Divisions

Three Red Hawks 7s teams participated in the Inaugural Serevi Cup Tournament run in conjunction with the USA Rugby Club 7s National Championships.

We entered a Girls team in a tough division made up of two WA Loggers sides, two MN Tundra sides and Apex, a team of 2014 High School All Americans.

The Girls had a phenomenal run going through to the Cup Final where they met Apex for the first time, playing inside the stadium to a packed and boisterous house.  The final did not disappoint with the Red Hawks having possession for most of the game and consistently knocking on the door.  Apex put up a wall of defense and the difference came late in the second half with an Apex breakaway try.  Click here for the Goff Rugby Report.

Two Boys sides also travelled to Seattle and participated in a strong eight team division.  Both sides faced steep competition along the way but ultimately both ended up vying for the Cup title finishing in the top four alongside two talented Loggers teams.  Check out the Goff Rugby Report Preview of the Boys competition by clicking here and the final wrap up by clicking here.

We are very proud of the way these three teams conducted themselves both on and off the pitch.  The feedback from the tournament was that Red Hawks played with intensity and respect, and with sportsmanship in tact throughout the day.  Well done!
