We are excited to announce Kirdy Molan has joined the Rugby Oregon team as the first Rugby Development Officer in Central Oregon. Kirdy will provide support for youth rugby development in the area, with an initial focus on building our spring 2016 co-ed middle school league through a partnership with the Bend Parks and Recreation Department.
Kirdy graduated from Oregon State University Cascades in 2013 with her Bachelors of Science from the School of Forestry in Eco and Adventure Tourism. After graduation and traveling she became a youth camp coordinator for Central Oregon Community College as well as an active volunteer in youth enrichment after-school programs.
Kirdy discovered rugby when living in New Zealand for a year in 2009, but fell in love with it In 2013, when she joined the Bend Lady Roughriders part of the Pacific Northwest Rugby Football Union. Playing flank, lock and eight man, she became an enthusiastic recruiter for the sport.
Kirdy loves to work with youth, is passionate about helping to enhance the lives of young people and believes rugby is a great way to help them feel welcome and gain confidence. She is very excited to start developing the Youth Rugby Program in Central Oregon and to grow the sport.
